I don’t know about you, but my dogs rarely ever get called by their actual names. Even my dogs at work have nicknames! Usually it’s something that rhymes with their name, speaks to their personality or just the most random jumble of words.
For Riot, the one that has stuck the most is Monkey….
"Do you have silly nicknames for your dogs/pets?"
Bosco is Rumble Bumble and The Mule is Ferrum (the symbol for iron is Fe). I went to school for chemistry so it makes sense to me. :)
Ryker is called Dumbass far more than his actual name. It might as well be his name. Along with several other cuss words and assorted combinations thereof. His non-swear word nicknames are Beast, Beast-face, and Big Ears.
Solstice started as Little Bit when she was a 9lb puppy and very tiny compared to Ryker. Now that’s evolved into Itsy Bitsy and just Itsy or Bitsy, as well as Bitsy-bee. You can imagine we get funny looks for calling her those since she’s not small compared to most dogs. :P She’s also Little Big Ears and Beastlette.
I love both Rumble Bumble and Little Bit. :)
Bindi has a looong list of names. The ones I use most are Miss B, Creature, Kiddo, and Sweetness.
Aurora is Roro, the Little Mare, the Madam, and the Brat, depending on how I feel about her at the time
My very favorite nickname ever belonged to my third Guide Dog puppy, Pele, who would piss on the carpet if I didn’t let him into the bathroom with me. I called him Sweetpee.
Piggy, Piggy girl, The Pigs, Piglet (seeing a theme??) Doglet, Beggar, Whiner, Fuzzy, Monster, Little angel, German Sheep-erd, etc. She has a lot of names.
I was literally just about to make a post about how skinny probably has no idea her name is skinny and she comes and responds to a variety of nicknames, including, but not limited to, meow, meow-meow, meow-meow-keekee, keekee, keekers, keeks, and skinny-kitty.
Amelia is - Melly Belly, Meelia-beelia.
Vlad is- booger, Vlady-Mir, Bubby.
Sif is- Sif-a-roni, Siffy.
My old husky, Bruce, was Boog. :)
Monty is kid, brat, kiddo, buddy, bud, anormal, butthead, etc.
Mila has tons including Velvet Ears, Stinky Butt, Butt Butt Goose, and Kinseypie. We’ve been calling her Little Lady, Mimi Lala, and Pie Pie a lot lately.
Huck is almost never called by his real name. It’s usually Knuckles, Hucky Snuggy, Snug, or Bug.
